Marvelous
Mombasa A walk through Mombasa's Old Town reveals the essence
of Swahili culture. The narrow streets can barely accommodate cars,
but teem with people, traders and donkeys. The high houses provide shade from
the scorching equatorial sun; heavy wooden doors are beautifully carved and inscribed
with arabic texts from the Koran. On their verandahs, old men in traditional muslim
attire while away the day sharing stories and pots of spicy coffee. Mombasa is
a wonderful place. (from Travel News Magazine, Nairobi, Kenya.)
